Marlin Communications hosted an event to reduce landfill, celebrate individuality, and show that Op Shop fashion is fabulous – all while raising money for good causes.
Marliners created a ‘Pop Op Shop’, where we sold clothes we no longer love or need to colleagues, and building neighbours. $339 was raised for The Smith Family, Australia’s largest educational charity, and the clothes left over were delivered The Smith Family charity store in Marrickville.
Marlin love to look out for excuses to party and on Pop Op Friday, Marliners came to work dressed in their funkiest, most elegant or otherwise most impressive outfit, exclusively composed of clothing purchased from local charity shops.
The outfits were judged during our fashion-forward ‘Pop Op Parade’. And having strutted their stuff on the Marlin catwalk, Marliners voted for their ‘Best Outfit.’
The clear winner was Brooke-Star in her elegant Korean-inspired ensemble. Brooke-Star donated her $240 prize money towards one of Marlin’s charity client winter appeals!
